American Quarter Horse enthusiast Matthew Christopher Nash of Abingdon, Virginia competed in the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show in Fort Worth, Texas, July 30-August 7.
Nash was among 2,000 youths, age 18 and under, from the United States, Canada and several countries participating in the show. He competed with his American Quarter Horses Lethal Legend a yearling gelding, Wincreditablefairytale a two-year-old mare that he was a finalist and Genuine GQ an aged gelding who was 10th out of 68.
The AQHYA World Championship Show is an invitational event, which serves as a showcase for top American Quarter Horse youth exhibitors, so competition promises to be intense and exciting. Young competitors vying for 30 world championship titles, as well as prizes, must have earned a predetermined number of points at American Quarter Horse Association –approved shows between May 1, 2003, and April 30, 2004, or be one of two entries in each nominated to represent each provincial Quarter Horse youth association.
